Privacy notice

Who we are

Cathair Dhubh Estate is run by Kate and Gary Watson, Lochinver, Sutherland, IV27 4JB. We are the data controller for the personal information described here. You can reach us at cathairdhubh@outlook.com or on 07815 056092.

What we collect and why

Enquiries. When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, telephone number if you give it, and your message. We use them only to answer you. The message is sent to our email account and kept for as long as we need it to deal with your enquiry.

Bookings. Availability and online bookings are handled by SuperControl, our booking system. The details you enter there (name, address, contact details, party size, payment) are used to manage your booking and your stay, and are kept for as long as the law requires us to keep booking and accounting records. SuperControl's own privacy notice is at supercontrol.co.uk.

Short-term let licence. As a licensed short-term let in Scotland we are required to keep certain guest records.

Cookies

This website uses one optional cookie service: Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows us which pages guests find useful. It stays switched off until you accept it in the cookie notice, and you can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the foot of every page. Google's own privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy. A small cookie named klaro remembers your choice for six months.

The booking calendar on our Booking page is provided by SuperControl and the map on our Directions page by Google; each may set cookies when that page loads.

Sharing and security

We do not sell or share your information with anyone else, except the services named above that we need to run the business, and where the law requires it. Our website is hosted in the United Kingdom by Graith Internet and is served over an encrypted connection.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Email cathairdhubh@outlook.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
